A 1-million-square-foot Amazon warehouse in Port St. Lucie that employs about 850 people will close in September for a renovation and expansion project that is expected to take two years, company spokesperson Amber Plunkett said.

Employees of the warehouse — located at 7600 LTC Parkway just off Midway Road along the city’s northern boundary — were informed May 7 that the facility would be closing September 17 and reopening in the fall of 2028, Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County spokesperson Maureen Saltzer said.
