HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida man is behind bars after being accused of engaging in sexual acts with a teenager over the course of three years.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says detectives launched an investigation on May 7 after discovering that Karl Slazinski began communicating with a 15-year-old girl in 2023.

According to the sheriff’s office, Slazinski and the victim allegedly met several times between May 2023 and May 2026 in Hillsborough County, where they engaged in sexual acts.
On Friday, May 22, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Slazinski.
His charges include:
Use of a Child in a Sexual PerformanceLewd or Lascivious Battery (Engage)Traveling to Meet a Minor After Using Communication Services or Devices to Solicit Certain Illegal ActsTransmission of Harmful Material to a MinorUnlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device
“This adult exploited and manipulated a child for years, using communication and calculated grooming to commit these horrific crimes,” said Chad Chronister.
