Tyler Cheatham and his father, Keith Cheatham, recently purchased Benjamin French Bakery & Cafe, a long-time Thornton Park staple. The Cheathams would like Benjamin’s to grow as a “third place”— a place where people can come together, hang out and interact.

Tyler, originally from New York, is a recent business graduate from UCF who has two French bulldogs, Paris and Blu. He was drawn to the Thornton Park Neighborhood because of its community and plans to be involved in community events.

Tyler’s brother Kyle Cheatham is helping cook. They intend to expand the menu with organic produce, more homemade items and charcuterie boards. They’d also like to bring back the French market items, such as wines and cheeses.

They also plan to extend hours of operation and be open for the Thornton Park District’s monthly Wine & Art Walks.
