HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A fatality on the Howard Frankland Bridge has two right lanes blocked to westbound traffic in Hillsborough County, authorities said.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said a Honda Motorcycle, driven by a 64-year-old Tampa man, was traveling southbound on I-275 in the outside center lane at around 4:35 a.m. on May 26.
FHP said at the same time, a Kia Soul, driven by a 48-year-old Lakewood Ranch woman, was traveling southbound on I-275 in the outside lane.
Near mile marker 35, FHP said the motorcycle changed lanes into the path of the Kia and was struck by it.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, per FHP.
Both lanes were still shut down as of 9 a.m. on May 26, according to FHP.
