Police have already arrested a 16-year-old and charged him with murder in the death of Gaige Santos-Brown. Officers are now looking for two more teen suspects.
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A family is grieving as police continue to search for two of three teen suspects in a St. Pete shooting that killed a 14-year-old boy.
St. Pete police say this happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday in the area of 15th Avenue South and 42nd Street in Childs Park, when Gaige Santos-Brown was meeting with three other teenagers.
Shots began to fire in the area, leaving Santos-Brown critically injured.
The 14-year-old was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Officers identified one 16-year-old boy as a suspect and arrested him later that night. He is charged with felony murder and violation of supervised release.
In a GoFundMe created for funeral expenses, Santos-Brown’s brother described him as a bright, lively boy. He leaves behind a father, several siblings and other loved ones.
“More than anything, he was an amazing kid with a good heart who was truly trying to turn his life around and move toward a better future,” his brother wrote on the GoFundMe. “He had so much life ahead of him, and our family is devastated that his future was stolen from him so soon.”
As of Tuesday morning, the GoFundMe has raised over $4,000 with a goal of $15,000.

Detectives are working on identifying the other two suspects in this case.
