11. Mandrell Desir, EDGE, Florida State

This is the more productive of the Desir twins up front for the Seminoles after he recorded 30 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks last season as a freshman before earning All-ACC Honorable Mention and ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year runner-up accolades. Desir’s sack total was the third-most in program history for a first-year player, and he ended the campaign with at least 0.5 sacks in five consecutive games. Like his brother, Darryll, Mandrell Desir played in every game, starting twice. Florida State retaining the Desir family on its 2026 roster was imperative to its defensive rebuild.

In their ACC preseason power rankings they have the Seminoles 12th overall.

Mike Norvell is reclaiming play-calling responsibilities for a do-or-die 2026 season. With the Seminoles coming off consecutive down years and their fourth losing season out of six, Norvell needs to win big. There are some portal splashes, such as former Texas running back Tre Wisner and No. 5-ranked offensive tackle transfer Xavier Chaplin from Auburn.

Anonymous coaches in the ACC say that FSU doesn’t have the booster support that people think they do while another one thinks Mike Norvell is a good coach that got complacent.

FSU RB Coach Kam Martin has been recruiting four-star RB Daylon Gordon out of Wylie, Texas since he was at Tulsa and it could pay dividends for the ‘Noles. He’s currently scheduled to officially visit Florida State on June 19th:
