The Pulse Memorial team presented a 60% design update on May 14, showcasing changes and additions to the previous plan, along with renderings and an estimated construction timeline.
The designs include an updated visitor pavilion to capture the feeling of Pulse as it was before, tell the story of the tragedy and talk about the impact of the months and years that followed.

The 60% update came with a few adjustments to the 30% update shared in March. According to a press release from the City of Orlando, planters were added to the design to “support site definition and safety” replacing the original plan for flagpoles. They also refined the family gathering area to create more privacy.

The Pulse Memorial Advisory Committee, a team of families, survivors and community members, developed the memorial’s concept. (COURTESY OF CITY OF ORLANDO)
Currently construction is planned to start in September 2026 and finish September 2027.
