Oehser: This was a day for tone-setting, and the tone around the Jaguars on Day 1 2026 OTAs was as expected. “New season, new team,” Head Coach Liam Coen said following Tuesday’s two-hour practice – and the theme of looking forward to ’26 and very much not being satisfied with winning the AFC South in 2025 indeed ran through the MEC Tuesday as it has throughout this offseason. While Coen emphasized while speaking to the media that evaluating positions such as offensive line and running back in unpadded offseason work is difficult, he lauded the “chemistry” between quarterback Trevor Lawrence and wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. – with the duo connecting multiple times Tuesday, including a deep pass for a touchdown late in practice. “It was nice to see a great start to that today, live and in person,” Coen said. “Those two have worked at it this spring thus far throughout Phase One, Phase Two – then showed up in a nice way today.”
