JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A Jacksonville man is behind bars facing charges of assault on his girlfriend.
Korey Scott was arrested Wednesday by the Jacksonville Police Department.
Warrants show that on Tuesday, the 23-year-old strangled his girlfriend, making it hard for her to breathe.
According to documents, the victim had bruising along her neck as a result of the assault.
Scott was charged with felony assault by strangulation, assault on a female, and misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. He was taken to the Onslow County Jail, where he remains under no bond.
