Retired Cape Coral Fire Chief Donald Cochran has died, the fire department announced Tuesday. Cochran joined the Cape Coral Fire Department in 1990, and in 2014, he was appointed fire chief. Cochran became the first CCFD firefighter to rise through the ranks at the department all the way to the fire chief role, the fire department said.
Cochran retired in 2018 after 28 years of service in the Cape Coral community. The department also remarked that Cochran always served with honor and integrity and brought a culture of professionalism to the department.
