PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A routine Uber Eats delivery in Port St. Lucie turned into a hit-and-run crash—and ended with police delivering the Chinese food.

According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, officers responded to a crash involving an Uber Eats vehicle and the customer’s parked car.

The incident, which was reportedly captured by nearby security cameras, showed the food delivery driver, later identified as 25-year-old Suz Delmas, mistakenly pass the destination and reverse into the car in an attempt to turn around.

Authorities say Delmas sped off with the food in her car and marked the delivery as completed in the app.

Police located Delmas shortly after the crash, where she was cooperative with investigators. She was arrested on scene, cited for leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, and released on her own recognizance with a mandatory court date.

In a lighter twist to the incident, once the investigation was complete, a Port St. Lucie police sergeant delivered the recovered Chinese takeout to the intended customer.
