Horror convention Spooky Empire is back to mark the (almost) halfway point to Halloween here in Orlando. The con features celebrity meet-and-greets and photo-ops, vendors selling all manner of eerie wares, horrifying live music, cosplay aplenty and a “tattoo-fest” highlighting Florida horror tattoo artists like Jeremy Scott of Hare and Hounds Tattoo.
Celebs this year include horror favorites like Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), CJ Graham (Jason Voorhees) and many more culled from classics like Child’s Play or newer titles like IT: Welcome to Derry. Oh yeah, and a little band of cosmic marauders named GWAR.
Spooky Empire, Friday-Sunday, May 29-31, DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Theme Park Resort, 10100 International Drive, spookyempire.com, $40-$299.
