TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A recent Lowndes High School graduate was identified Thursday as one of three people shot during a large gathering in a Tallahassee parking garage over the weekend.
Tallahassee Police confirmed Thursday morning that Gavin Yates-Lyons was shot and left with a life-threatening injury after the shooting occurred just before 5 a.m. Sunday at 411 Chapel Drive.
Authorities responded that day after hearing gunfire and found one person, later identified as Yates-Lyons, shot, according to Tallahassee Police.
WCTV previously reported back in December that the LHS graduate signed with the Ball State Cardinals for collegiate football.

The early morning shooting Sunday left two other people with non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital as a result.
Officers believe the shooting was the result of an “unsanctioned pop-up party.”
As of Thursday morning, the police department has not announced any arrests in connection to the shooting.
