JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (CBS12) — A construction worker is behind bars after he stabbed his coworker in the chest on Thursday night.
Officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) responded to the Anheuser-Busch plant after receiving reports of a stabbing. Upon the officer’s arrival, they found Antoine Autry with a stab wound to his chest.
The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department (JFRD) rushed Autry to the hospital; however, he died from his injuries.

JSO says its investigation revealed that both Autry and the suspect, identified as Jason Gunthrie, were on their first day working at the plant as contractors. Witnesses reported hearing Autry scream that he had been stabbed and saw Gunthrie, 38, running from him. They told officers they were unsure what led to the stabbing, as they hadn’t heard any arguments or seen a confrontation beforehand.
Officers say their K-9 unit found Gunthrie hiding inside one of the buildings on the plant and took him into custody.
