Caloosahatchee Cannabis Co. will close Seed & Bean, its hemp cafe at 1520 Broadway in downtown Fort Myers, on May 31 as the company shifts focus to its expanded Cape Coral location and growing beverage business. Seed & Bean opened as Florida’s first cannabis cafe and became known for hemp-based wellness products, clean food and nonalcoholic alternatives. Company leaders cited rising food costs, operational challenges, the effects of the pandemic and Hurricane Ian, and changing downtown foot traffic. Seed & Bean locations in Cape Coral and Venice will remain open, while C3 expands its hemp beer and THC seltzer offerings.
