Kelaya Codner, a four-year-old from Fort Lauderdale who has been battling kidney cancer, loves animals and was a behind-the-scenes VIP during a private tour with Zoo Miami’s goodwill ambassador, Ron Magill.
Kelaya has been through surgery and multiple rounds of chemo in just the past six months, so being outside and away from hospitals was literally a breath of fresh air. Getting to feed giraffes, her favorite animal, and interact with others also was a dream come true for this cancer warrior, who often watches animal documentaries to help her through difficult medical treatments.
The wish itself was sponsored by the Roofing Contractors Association of South Florida.
