An ambulance driver and paramedic were injured this afternoon when the ambulance they were in collided with a flatbed truck, fire officials said.
St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue crews covered a crash on I-275 northbound just south of Roosevelt Boulevard.

The crash involved a SunStar Ambulance which was heading to an emergency when it was hit in the rear by a flat bed truck. The ambulance was switching lanes when the truck’s driver hit it.

The impact caused the ambulance to spin into the median after hitting the guard rail.

The ambulance driver and passenger were transported to the hospital but were not carrying a patient at the time.

The truck driver was not injured.
