• I’m ticked off at the folks leaving larger-than-life skeleton decorations in their front yards all year and decorating them for every holiday. Skeletons are morbid and remind me of death. They are especially scary for little kids and not at all funny. Even the animal skeletons make me sad. Get a storage unit if you don’t have room in your house and quit bringing down our lovely downtown neighborhood.
• Ticked off is putting it mildly in reference to the Florida women’s softball team. They exhibited extremely poor sportsmanship by not going to the Texas Tech players and shaking hands with them and congratulating them on their victory. Other losing teams have done this in the tournament. Why didn’t Florida?
• My grown kids still act like kids — selfish and insensitive. That’s not how you were raised. You don’t bother to just call us to see how we are doing. Yet you expect us to drop everything and help you, not to mention babysitting. How about a thank you every now and then?
• I’m really ticked off that Frito-Lay closed its Orlando location. Now we get Frito-Lay products from Plano, Texas. The quality is not nearly as good and many of the chips are broken when they get here from all the shipping. Hopefully they can come back to Orlando.
The flip side
• I recently went to the Winter Park Costco Optical Department, and although there were a few people ahead of me, I had a wonderful experience working with Mary. She was so kind and helpful!
