TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCJB) – State lawmakers approved a $114 billion budget on Friday, with funding for a number of North Central Florida projects.
Almost a billion dollars is being allocated for school readiness programs statewide.
The Alachua County Early Learning Coalition program would get more than $11 million.
Marion County is scheduled to receive more than $16 million for its program.
Nine and a half million dollars is set to go toward readiness programs in Columbia, Hamilton, Lafayette, Union and Suwannee counties combined.
Programs in Dixie, Gilchrist and Levy counties are sharing an $11.5 million pot of money with Citrus and Sumter counties.
