JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – An investigation is underway after an altercation in Jacksonville led to one person being stabbed, officials say.

Officials say on Saturday morning, Jacksonville Police responded to a subject with a weapon call at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, located at 1126 Henderson Drive.

According to officials, 54-year-old Stacey Sanders and 39-year-old Bethany Cardona were in a physical exchange when Sanders brandished a firearm.

Officials go on to say that Sanders was disarmed by an individual, leading Sanders to leave the business briefly. Sanders then returned with a knife, which was used to stab Cardona in the chest, according to officials.

Sanders is being charged with a misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and one count of carrying a concealed handgun. Officials say Sanders is being held under an unsecured bond of $1,000.

Officials say this is still an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with any information related to this incident is asked to contact Detective S. Bloomfield at (910) 938-6410 or Crime Stoppers at 910-938-3273.
