The UFL postseason picture is already set, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to watch when the Orlando Storm and DC Defenders meet in Week 10. When these two teams faced off last week the Storm got the edge in a 27-19 win at home.
Orlando enters the final week of the regular season with the league’s best record at 7-2 and has already secured the UFL’s top seed. DC, meanwhile, sits at 5-4 and has clinched its place in the postseason as well. With neither team able to improve or worsen its playoff position, the focus shifts from standings to evaluation.
For the Defenders, all eyes could be on the quarterback position.
Spencer Sanders struggled to consistently move the offense last week, opening the door for Jason Bean to potentially see increased action. Head coach Shannon Harris recently noted that Bean’s workload has been increasing, a sign that the coaching staff may be preparing to give the dynamic quarterback more opportunities.
If DC hopes to make a deep playoff run, this could be the perfect opportunity to see what Bean can provide against one of the league’s top defenses.
Defensively, the Defenders have been one of the league’s more unpredictable units throughout the season. At their best, they create turnovers and game-changing plays. At their worst, they’ve struggled with consistency. Finding that balance heading into the postseason will be critical.
On the other sideline, Orlando’s approach may be centered around preservation rather than results.
With the No. 1 seed already secured, the Storm have little incentive to expose key starters to unnecessary risk. That could mean extended playing time for reserves and developmental players, including the possibility of Matt Corral getting the start at quarterback.
While the standings may not be at stake, roster battles certainly are.
Wide receiver Elijah Badger is someone that’s worth watching after flashing big play ability a week ago with multiple explosive receptions. Another intriguing addition is running back Deuce Vaughn, who spent time with the Dallas Cowboys this past preseason before joining Orlando. Vaughn’s speed and versatility could provide an immediate spark as the Storm evaluate potential playoff and future season contributors.

More than anything, this game serves as an opportunity for both teams to assess their depth.
With playoff seeds locked, coaches can use Week 10 to determine who deserves a larger role in the playoffs and who may be part of the team’s plans beyond 2026. Players further down the depth chart will have a chance to make a final impression before roster decisions begin in the offseason.
The result may not alter the playoff bracket, but the performances could influence playoff rotations and future contracts.
