A 21-year-old Tampa man driving a Chevy Silverado the wrong way on I-275 caused a crash that killed a 24-year-old Tampa man, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Before the crash, the wrong-way driver had already been involved in two hit-and-runs.
As he continued driving the wrong way, he crashed nearly head-on into a Toyota Corolla driven by a 24-year-old Tampa man.
Both vehicles flipped over, and the Silverado caught fire.
As the Corolla overturned, it struck a Toyota Camry driven by a 26-year-old Wesley Chapel man.
That collision then pushed another Toyota Camry, driven by a 38-year-old Tampa man.
The wrong-way driver was seriously injured and taken to the hospital.
