Three people were injured after a Halloween night hit-and-run crash in Punta Gorda, which prompted a search.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, a 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 collided with a parked vehicle and three pedestrians on Sandhill Boulevard, a popular spot for trick-or-treaters.

The pedestrians, an adult, a teenager, and a child, were injured and taken to local hospitals.

The driver fled the scene, prompting a search.

State Troopers later located the driver, Eugene Mandarino, 66, of Punta Gorda, at his home. He was arrested on multiple counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
