Affidavit: Garbage truck driver was warned before he ran over woman sleeping in alley

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WKRC) — A Florida garbage truck driver accused of running over a woman had reportedly been warned that people were sleeping in the alley before he reversed his truck into it, per WFLA.

According to an arrest affidavit, a bystander told 51-year-old Nathan Brown, who was operating a St. Petersburg garbage truck when he allegedly struck and killed a 49-year-old woman, that multiple people were sleeping in the alley he was working in.

Brown apparently ignored that warning and reversed down the alley. He then loaded the garbage truck and, as he was exiting the alley, hit the victim.

He also did not stop to help the woman or call 911, said the affidavit.

Brown was arrested later Saturday morning and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
