Sorry, local Sting fans. Instead of coming to Tampa, the “Englishman in New York” is heading to a new venue — 70 miles away.
The singer’s Nov. 24 concert, originally scheduled at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, has been moved to Hard Rock Live in Orlando.
A release cites upcoming renovations as the reason for the disruption. Tampa’s Hard Rock this morning announced plans to “significantly expand it smoke-free offerings,” doubling the number of smoke-free slot machines and table games after guest feedback.
Impacted areas include the hotel lobby, L Bar and a chunk of the casino floor spanning the Elvis piano display to the Cipresso restaurant. The Hard Rock will be getting new carpet, chairs, gaming table felts and ceiling treatments. The slot machines will also get a deep cleaning.
According to a Hard Rock spokesperson, only two other events will be moved or postponed due to the renovation — O.A.R on Nov. 12, and Jonathan Van Ness on Nov. 19. More information on those shows is coming soon.
It’s not the first time Seminole Hard Rock has moved an event to another venue due to unforeseen circumstances. In October 2024, concerts by Willy Chirino andChase Atlantic were pushed back or relocated as the hotel became a temporary, state-designated hurricane shelter for families.
The Hard Rock will honor tickets for the Sting 3.0 tour at the new venue, offering comparable seating for no additional cost.
For those who don’t want to make the journey to Orlando, the casino is offering refunds through the original point of purchase for ticket holders who make a request before July 1 at 5 p.m.
According to a spokesperson, the Tampa concert was about 10 tickets away from being sold out. With the move to the larger venue in Orlando, about 360 additional tickets will be available to fans, plus whatever seats open up from ticket holders who opt for a refund.
