He faces a charge of attempted second-degree homicide for his role in the Marianna weekend shooting that left one person injured. The documents went on to reveal that the 22-year-old suspect also had a warrant for second-degree homicide out of Bay County.
Patterson’s arrest Tuesday comes after the Marianna Police Department responded to the Gibbs Apartments early Sunday morning regarding a report about a male who had been shot.
Officers then arrived at the scene and found out the victim had already been transported to Jackson Hospital by someone due to being shot in the lower extremities, according to MPD.
An investigation revealed that a confrontation had taken place between the victim and Patterson. Shortly after, the confrontation then escalated into a fight just before a gun was discharged, hitting the victim, the police department said.
Moments later, Patterson fled the scene.
Patterson was transported to the Leon County Jail following his arrest Tuesday in Tallahassee.
