Newcomers to Jacksonville will have a chance to connect with established residents during a downtown welcome party.

Four Jacksonville organizations will have a welcome tent for new residents open on the downtown square starting at 5:30 p.m. June 12. The tent will be open during Jacksonville Main Street’s Downtown Concert Series performance by ’90s Kids Superfly Tribute Band.

The tent connecting newcomers to the area with established community members will be hosted by Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce, Jacksonville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Jacksonville Main Street and Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corp.

The third annual welcome party builds on Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corp.’s talent attraction campaign. Launched in 2024, it has brought seven people to the city.

“We want new residents to experience not just our events and attractions, but also the welcoming nature of the people who make Jacksonville feel like home,” visitors bureau Executive Director Brittany Henry said.
