Here’s what to know about how the government shutdown is affecting Tallahassee’s airport

New airline aims to boost travel at Tallahassee International Airport as passenger traffic trends down

  • June 3, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee International is seeing fewer people flying, even as more flights are on the way.

New city numbers show that total passengers in April are down about 8.5% from last year, after Silver Airways shut down.

American and Delta now serve all scheduled airline passengers to and from TLH, but Breeze Airways is set to launch new nonstop flights this summer, which city leaders hope will help reverse the decline.

Behind the scenes, the airport is still moving about 1.7 million pounds of air cargo a month, roughly even with last year.
