SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A 53-year-old man was arrested after undercover deputies said they bought cocaine and more than 500 pills from him during a narcotics investigation.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said its Narcotics Unit received multiple tips that Christopher Michael Scalisi was selling drugs throughout the county. Detectives opened an investigation, identified Scalisi and bought drugs directly from him several times in May, according to the agency.
By the end of the investigation, detectives said they had purchased 7.8 grams of cocaine, 10 Xanax/Alprazolam pills and 563 amphetamine pills.
Scalisi was booked into the Charlotte County Jail on several charges, including sale and delivery of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a park, sale and delivery of Xanax/Alprazolam, and possession of Xanax/Alprazolam with intent to sell.
He also faces two counts of trafficking amphetamine over 14 grams, two counts of possession of amphetamine with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a park, and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.
The agency said Scalisi was already out on bond for other narcotics-related charges. He is being held at the Charlotte County Jail on $358,000 bond for the new charges, and bond has been revoked on the prior charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
“I’ve been warning you. We’re not playing around. Keep selling this junk in my community and we will find you,” Sheriff Bill Prummell said. “This guy apparently didn’t learn from the last time he was arrested, so he’s back behind bars again. I applaud my team for their thorough investigation into this dealer and for getting him off the streets as quickly as possible. Who’s the next poison-pusher that didn’t get the message? Your room is ready.”
