PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WWSB) – A 17-year-old e-bike rider who was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Charlotte County has died, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the bicyclist was pronounced dead June 2 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
The crash happened around 10:19 p.m. May 30 at Coliseum Boulevard and Wilmington Boulevard.
According to FHP’s previous report, the teen was riding an electric bicycle west on Coliseum Boulevard and had turned onto Wilmington Boulevard when he collided with a northbound 2023 Hyundai Palisade in the intersection.

Investigators said the SUV stopped briefly after the crash before leaving the scene.
Troopers later located the damaged vehicle, which had windshield and A-pillar damage. They also located the driver, identified as 33-year-old Angelica Brianna Clark of Port Charlotte.
Clark was previously arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury, a felony. FHP has not said whether that charge has changed following the bicyclist’s death.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the criminal investigation remains ongoing.
