A close call involving a JetBlue plane and another aircraft near Fort Lauderdale is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. Monday as JetBlue Flight 1256 received an onboard alert that another aircraft was nearby and not in communication with air traffic control, FAA officials said.
“That guy’s insane,” someone says in a radio transmission from the flight from LiveATC.net.
The flight landed safely at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after the “required separation was maintained” by the aircraft, officials said.
The incident is now under investigation.
