Tampa police have identified a couple found dead last week in two related investigations.
At around 1:20 a.m. on May 25, officers responded to N. Central Avenue after receiving reports of an idling vehicle in the middle of the roadway. When they arrived, they found a man, later identified as 41-year-old Jamel Williams, dead inside the car from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
As that investigation was taking place, police say they were dispatched to a home on E. Patterson Street just before 6:30 a.m. in regards to an unresponsive woman. Preliminary evidence revealed smoke and structural damage inside the home, indicating a fire had recently occurred.

Police say the woman, later identified as 36-year-old Tyneisha Burroughs, was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office will determine the official cause of death.
Detectives determined these were not “random acts,” and the woman and man were last known to be in a romantic relationship before their deaths.
