Five-star edge rusher Jaiden Bryant has flipped his commitment from LSU football to Miami, he revealed on social media Wednesday.
Bryant is the No. 2 edge rusher in the country and a top-20 recruit nationally in the Class of 2027, according to the 247Sports Composite. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound edge rusher had been committed to LSU since January.
He attends Irmo High in Columbia, South Carolina, and is the top-ranked player in the state.
Bryant was the second-highest-ranked recruit in LSU’s 2027 class, only trailing five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson. LSU only has four commitments in its class after losing Bryant’s pledge, with four-star quarterback Peyton Houston, four-star athlete Braylon Calais and four-star wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens in the fold.
Three-quarters of LSU’s recruiting class is from Louisiana. The only recruit who doesn’t hail from the state is Stevens, the No. 31 player in the state.
