LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — A Lee County man accused of kidnapping his girlfriend and abusing her across multiple states before attempting to track her in Lee County is now behind bars.
41-year-old Floyd Stuck and the victim had planned a trip to New York, but on April 20, Stuck allegedly began acting erratically and refused to let the victim leave.
As they traveled through Louisiana, Oklahoma, Nevada and other states, Stuck allegedly abused the victim multiple times. When they arrived in California, investigators said Stuck restrained the victim with zip ties and duct tape and threatened to kill her.
Deputies said the victim escaped by jumping from a balcony and running to local law enforcement for help.
The victim had returned to Lee County on June 2 when home surveillance footage alerted her that Stuck was outside her residence attempting to place a tracking device on her vehicle. Using advanced technology and resources, deputies located Stuck in Bonita Springs on Tuesday night.
When deputies attempted a traffic stop, he fled. Stuck eventually abandoned his vehicle and used a rideshare service to escape into Collier County.
Investigators continued tracking his movements and learned he had rented a U-Haul van. On Wednesday, deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office located the U-Haul.
The pursuit ended after a foot chase with Stuck taken into custody. Stuck has been charged with kidnapping, aggravated stalking, installation/use of a tracking device without consent and fleeing and eluding.
