JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A man is facing charges after warrants say he assaulted two Jacksonville police officers.
Jovon Council was arrested by Jacksonville police overnight.
Warrants say that as police were investigating a domestic disturbance, Council threatened to beat up two officers.
The 36-year-old man also reportedly pulled away from police and refused to stop walking when asked by the officers.
Council is accused of assaulting the two officers. Warrants say he headbutted one officer and kicked another in the face, groin and chest.
Council was charged with two counts of assaulting a government official, two counts of communicating threats and two counts of resisting a public officer.
He was taken to the Onslow County Jail. Records show he was combative during processing and could not be fingerprinted.
Council is being held without bond. He has a pending DWI charge, according to online documents.
