JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina woman is facing charges after police say she attacked her husband.
Jacksonville police charged Rebecca Madvig, 33, on Thursday with domestic violence, simple assault, and two counts of child abuse, all misdemeanors.
A magistrate’s order says Madvig wrapped her arms around her husband and jerked him into a bookcase and wall. It goes on to say she then grabbed a knife and cut her husband’s finger while he tried to disarm her.
The child abuse charges stem from the risk of injury to two children who were in the room when the situation unfolded, the court documents say.
Madvig was given a $2,500 unsecured bond and ordered to stay away from her husband.
