A Jacksonville woman is facing domestic violence, assault, and child abuse charges after an alleged incident involving her spouse, according to arrest warrants.

Rebecca Rochelle Madvig, 33, was arrested June 4 by the Jacksonville Police Department.

According to warrants, Madvig is accused of using physical force against her spouse during a June 4 incident. Warrants allege she wrapped her arms around the victim, jerked him into a bookcase and wall, then attempted to grab a knife. The warrants state the victim’s finger was cut while he tried to grab the knife.

The child abuse charges allege Madvig created a substantial risk of physical injury to two children by getting into a physical altercation while they were in the room.

A court order sets several release conditions in the case. Madvig must stay away from the home, school, business, or place of employment of the alleged victim, and must not assault, beat, molest, or wound the alleged victim.

The order also states Madvig must have no contact with the alleged victim. According to the court order, the conditions do not apply to minor children. Madvig may return to the residence only if accompanied by law enforcement to retrieve clothing, tools of trade, and toiletries.

Court records show Madvig received a $2,500 unsecured bond.

A disposition hearing is scheduled for Aug. 4 in Onslow County District Court.
