CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK)— A MasTec contractor was airlifted to a hospital after suffering an electrical shock while working on a power pole.

The incident happened at Janis Road and Burnt Store Road North around 8 a.m. Police shut down Burnt Store Road for a short time so a medical helicopter could land.

The man was airlifted to a hospital. Lee County Electric Company later used two bucket trucks to work on a power pole at the scene.

It’s unclear whether that pole was the one that shocked the man. His name and the extent of his injuries have not been released.
