Cool, sunny game day in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hey Jacksonville, Katie Garner here with your weekend outlook from News4JAX, The Weather Authority.

Let’s start with the big headline: It’s a crisp, sunny start to the weekend, and honestly, I’m loving this “puffcoat” weather. Early this morning it was right around 41 degrees here in Jacksonville — perfect for grabbing your favorite jacket as you head outside.

By 3:30 p.m., expect game day to be beautiful at 71 degrees and clear. So whether you’re tailgating for Florida vs. Georgia or spending time outdoors, the forecast looks fantastic with plenty of sunshine and minimal wind. Wind gusts could reach the teens but shouldn’t cause any problems for outdoor plans.

Out of the Darkness walk: perfect start

I know many of you are heading to the Out of the Darkness walk at the Seawalk Pavilion on Jack’s Beach this morning. You’ll want to layer up early—it starts out at 51 degrees at 7 a.m. as folks gather, rising to 55 degrees when the walk steps off at 8 a.m. and up to 60 degrees by 9 a.m. We’re talking clear skies all morning.

If you’re out there, don’t forget to share your photos with SnapJAX! I’d love to see your walk-day moments: https://www.news4jax.com/snapjax/

Shower chances Sunday and next week

Looking ahead, a change is likely late in the weekend as a low pressure system works its way in from the Gulf. That means a 20% chance of a shower on Sunday with a high near 76 degrees. By Monday, rain chances go up slightly to 30%, but most of us will still see plenty of dry hours.

Daytime highs stay comfortable and a bit above average, with the 70s sticking around all week. If you’re planning more outdoor time, expect this pleasant stretch to continue, but keep an umbrella handy for those quick Sunday or Monday sprinkles.

Final thoughts from News4JAX

Our Exact Track 4D radar keeps showing a fair, dry spell to start, with only a slight uptick in rain chances as next week begins. Mornings will be chilly but pleasant, and afternoons are shaping up to be gorgeous across Jacksonville and along the coast.

Stay cozy, enjoy all the fall activities, and keep it tuned to The Weather Authority for the latest updates!
