SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – At least 10 homes in a Venice neighborhood were evacuated Friday after as a brush fire threatened the area, authorities said.
Sarasota County firefighters responded to the the scene in Stoneybrook near the 12000 block of Tempest Harbor Loop.
Brush fire in South Sarasota County consumed 300 acres
At about 4 p.m., the area has burned 41 total acres and was 100% contained, according to the Sarasota Fire Department.
Florida Forest Service personnel are also on scene.
No injuries or damage to homes have been reported.
