GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Florida will play host to Miami on Dec. 2 as part of the 2026 SEC-ACC Women’s Basketball Challenge, setting up an in-state matchup in Gainesville.
ESPN announced the pairings Friday for the fourth year of the event. The game will also mark a new chapter for Florida, with Tami Reiss set to coach the Gators for the first time this season.
The SEC has controlled the series so far, going 30-16 against the ACC overall, including a 23-9 mark over the past two seasons.
Florida is 2-1 in its three previous Challenge games, beating Georgia Tech 68-58 on Nov. 29, 2023, and Clemson 77-64 on Dec. 5, 2024, before falling to Virginia Tech 68-64 on Dec. 3, 2025. Each of the Gators’ first three Challenge matchups was played on the road, making this season’s meeting with Miami their first at home.
