Man serving life in Orlando murder back in court, accused in separate senior attack

Ronald Davis, who was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of an Orlando pastor’s elderly wife, is back in court to face charges in a separate alleged senior attack, records show. Davis faces new charges of home invasion robbery, aggravated assault on a person 65 years old or older, and battery on a person 65 years of age or older, all in connection with a November 2024 incident during which he’s accused of forcing his way into an 80-year-old man’s home on Arrow Lane, beating him, and stealing his belongings, according to court documents filed between February and May of this year. According to an affidavit for an arrest warrant, the victim rolled his wheelchair to his door and opened it when he heard someone was there around 4:19 p.m. Nov. 21, 2024. The suspect outside, identified as Davis, forced his way into the home and threatened to kill the man, demanding money and arming himself with a screwdriver before pushing the victim out of his wheelchair, getting on top of him, and kicking him in the head, the affidavit states. Davis is further accused of walking around the man’s house while taking miscellaneous electronics and ultimately leaving on a bicycle. The affidavit continues, stating that after allegedly entering the man’s home, Davis told the man that he was “the police.” Davis also allegedly said that the victim was a dead man if he called 911, adding someone who Davis claimed was outside would “blow his brains out” if the victim left. The case draws similarities to that which saw Davis sentenced to life in April 2025 for the murder of 85-year-old Lucy Pat Curl. Orlando police said Curl was by herself at her home on Caribbean Court when Davis knocked on her door, claiming he was a community services officer, before forcing his way inside and attacking Curl, knocking her unconscious. Curl later died of her injuries. Before being sentenced, Davis was further accused of a burglary in November 2024 on Lauderdale Court. In that case, a woman told police that after she came home to find her garage door open and about $2,000 of jewelry missing, her security cameras showed the suspect — identified by police as Davis — knocking on her door before going into her garage. Davis is scheduled to be back in court for a hearing June 12 on the new charges.
