A woman is speaking out after she said her car was stolen by a driver who crashed his SUV in Deerfield Beach.
NBC6 on Sunday spoke to Shyann Figaro, who said she was driving down Hillsboro Boulevard, near Southeast Fifth Avenue, when a black SUV lost control behind her.
Figaro said the driver swerved trying to avoid her car and ran headfirst into a building and a palm tree.
Video shows the damage to the front end of the black SUV that was allegedly involved in this crash.
“Called 911, got out, asked if he was OK, got into my driver’s side, opened up my passenger’s side, grabbed my purse, and he sped off,” she said.
Video at a nearby Chick-fil-A captured a silver car surrounded by police tape and a Broward Sheriff’s Office patrol car, which could be related to the initial crash and carjacking.
NBC6 has reached out to authorities for information.
Traffic in the area is being redirected, and a patrol car is on the scene.
