Firefighters responded to a house fire on SE 5th Place in Cape Coral just after 7 p.m. Saturday night, rescuing one person from inside the home.
The person was airlifted in critical condition in coordination with Lee County EMS and LeeFlight.
Firefighters also rescued a dog, a cat, and a kitten from the home. Additional cats and kittens were found outside, but some, along with the dog and cat, ran away in fear.
