TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Police Department and capital city community are remembering a fallen deputy.
Monday marks four years since the death of Officer Christopher Fariello.
One year after being killed in the line of duty, TPD Officer Christopher Fariello was honored on the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.(Abby Walton)
Officer Fariello was killed in a crash on June 8, 2022, when a man, accused of shooting his own family, drove into oncoming traffic and hit Fariello’s patrol car.
Officer Fariello was 33 years old. He’d been with TPD since 2019 and came from a family with more than 70 years in law enforcement.
Fariello’s family created a scholarship in his name at Tallahassee State College to help the next generation of law enforcement.
The scholarship was created to provide tuition assistance to students enrolling in TSC’s Florida Public Safety Institute’s Law Enforcement Program.
Meanwhile, the man who killed him is serving a life sentence for murder.
