TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – According to the United States Geological Survey, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck off the northwestern coast of Cuba Monday afternoon.

WCTV’s newsroom has received multiple phone calls saying they felt the shaking in Tallahassee around 2 pm.
One caller said DPR employees were seen evacuating their office building because of the shaking. WCTV has not been able to confirm if an evacuation was actually ordered at that location.
The National Weather Service in Tallahassee confirmed that they also felt the shaking in their office very briefly. The NWS also confirmed there is no threat of a tsunami from this earthquake.
