Three new coffee shops are poised to open by fall within a three-quarter-mile stretch of U.S. 41 near Edison Mall in Fort Myers.
7 Brew signed a lease for 4102 Cleveland Ave., which until the week of June 1 had been a long-abandoned gas station just across the street from the mall. Demolition and building permits were issued in April, city records show, and the gas station has since been razed.
7 Brew, founded in 2017 in Northwest Arkansas, had seven locations in 2020.
A franchise investment by Drink House Holdings in March 2021 supercharged growth, taking 7 Brew from 14 locations in early 2022 to more than 700 locations across 38 states this year. The company serves seven categories of drinks, hence the name: coffee, energy drinks, fizz sodas, teas, lemonades, smoothies and shakes.
7 Brew could not be reached for comment. It arrived in Southwest Florida in September 2025 in Port Charlotte.

“They’re good to go,” said Sana Abuoqab, whose company, S&O Ranch LLC, owns the land where 7 Brew will be built in Fort Myers. “They have all their permits. They have all their licenses. I think the time frame was 150 days, and they should be up and running.”
Abuoqab has owned the vacant property since 2022 but has been waiting for the right tenant.
“We had a few stores that wanted to go in there,” she said. “Barbers and restaurants and so forth. But we wanted somebody who would be there long term and that would boost the whole area.”
Another coffee concept, one more local in nature, is slated to arrive just eight parcels to the north.

The building that housed BurgerQue, a drive-thru barbecue business, was demolished last year. BurgerQue owner Tim Mankin died in a car crash in Texas in 2020, and the business later closed.
The property has since changed hands, and Urban Buzz Coffee Co. has been taking shape. Construction has been delayed because the city required Urban Buzz to build a retaining wall, said Adam Eble, who manages the Cape Coral Urban Buzz, which opened in April 2020 at 4413 Del Prado Blvd. Brother Alex Eble runs the University Village location near Florida Gulf Coast University at 19810 Village Center Drive, which opened in January 2024. Parents Sharon and Jeff Eble work behind the scenes as chief financial officer and franchise developer, respectively.
“It’s going to be crazy,” Adam Eble said of what will become coffee row in Fort Myers. “We want some competition. We want to be better every single day. We’re excited. We can’t wait for it to be open.”

Foxtail Coffee also is awaiting completion of interior construction at the retail space fronting Latimer Crossing, a new affordable apartment complex at 3621 Cleveland Ave., 0.7 miles from the future 7 Brew location.
This will be the fourth Foxtail in Southwest Florida owned by Diana Willis, who also owns the area’s Jason’s Deli locations. She hopes to open the new coffee shop by the end of August.
The three new coffee shops could open at about the same time.
“Let’s do it,” Willis said of the competition. “I think that’s great. I like where I’m at because I’m on the morning drive side for people going toward downtown.”
