TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Wakulla County Corrections Institute Correctional Officer was arrested on several drug-related charges, according to court documents.
Records show Da’Launte Freeman was arrested on June 4 after Tallahassee Police found a package that was flagged as possibly containing narcotics.
According to arrest papers, a search of the package revealed one pound of Butylone, which is commonly sold as Molly for around $75-$100 per gram.
Tallahassee Police then made a “controlled delivery” of the package to the address it had listed.

A woman accepted the package at the door, according to arrest documents. Freeman later came home, wearing his Department of Corrections uniform, and TPD officers executed a search warrant of the house.
Officers saw Freeman attempt to run out of the back door with the package, according to arrest papers.
Freeman followed orders to stop and was taken into custody.
Police also found over 200 grams of methamphetamine, over 20 grams of Marijuana, edibles, a vacuum sealer and plastic bags inside the home.
Freeman is charged with Trafficking in Butylone, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Cannabis Over 20g, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Drug House and Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $24,000, which he posted on June 5. Freeman has entered a not guilty plea, according to court records.
According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Freeman was dismissed from his role following his arrest.
