A three-year collective bargaining agreement between the Village of Key Biscayne and the International Union of Police Associations, AFL-CIO, will be discussed and possibly lead to a vote as the Village Council’s monthly meeting takes place at 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, June 9.
The impact of refined definitions of sick leave, overtime hours and holidays is expected to add anywhere between $25,000-$75,000 to the Village’s budget.
That is just one of the topics on the agenda for the meeting in Village Chambers (TV: VKB-TV).
Also on the agenda is a resolution to approve a second amendment to the Joint Use Agreement with the School Board of Miami-Dade County for repairs, replacements and upgrades to the recreational fields at MAST Academy in an amount not to exceed $2,482,896, with the School Board reimbursement covering 50% of the costs.
Other agenda items include:
• Chief Financial Officer Benjamin Nussbaum will provide an update on the state’s attempt at property tax reform.
• A resolution to select CSR Heavy Construction, Inc. for the Village Green curb surfacing project in an amount not to exceed $89,194.
• A second reading of an ordinance to select FSV Construction Company for the Key Biscayne Beach Park renovation project in an amount not to exceed $871,083.
• A resolution to approve a consent-to-use agreement with the Ocean Club Community Association, Inc., to allow the installation of a pump station, backup generator and electrical platform for the Village’s flood mitigation project.
• A resolution to approve the first amendment to the professional services agreement with KB Soccer, Inc., which incorporates player development and playing times standards, and a private and extra team Training policy; create an annual review and improvement procedures for existing soccer program plans; and incorporate changes for compliance with state law.
• An update on the renovations at Grand Bay Club and the Ritz-Carlton.
• A special presentation for the U-13 girls soccer state championship team.
