TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – D1 Softball’s National Player of the Year seems set to leave the Florida State softball program. Shortstop Isa Torres will enter her name into the transfer portal as first reported by D1 Softball and also confirmed to WCTV.
“Florida State has given me more than I could ever put into words,” said Torres in a statement on social media. “This decisision is not about leaving something behind, it’s about persuing a new opportunity and embracing a new challenge.”
“My respect, appreciation and love for Florida State remain unchanged.”
The junior from Georgetown, Texas had a record breaking 2026 season both in the field and at the plate. Her .530 batting average was good for third in the country in addition to 56 RBI and 16 home runs.
Torres .989 fielding percentage was among the nation’s best, earning her the Golden Glove Award.
Torres has one year of eligibility left to play NCAA Softball.
